Abstract:
STEMix is a collaborative project aimed to develop an egalitarian approach to science and technology education for girls and boys, and to support young girl’s interest for STEM so that they consider them as a potential career. This aim will be pursued by producing recommendations for educators and flash resources that enable educators to approach gender topics in STEM in a simple and playful way. The main objectives of the project are: 1) To improve the ability of the project partners to advocate for greater gender equality in the orientation towards the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) sectors among students and educators in the broadest sense; and 2) To combat gender stereotypes related to STEM and change the perceptions of educators and students towards a more egalitarian orientation towards STEM studies and career through creating and disseminating flash resources, delivering training to educators.
